The 2018 Spay/Neuter Clinic
The Friends of Estancia Valley Animals and Town of Edgewood hosted a mobile spay-neuter clinic held on July 7, 2018 and it was a great success. The Mobile Clinic arrived in the morning and pre-scheduled clients were lined up and waiting with their pets. FEVA volunteers Faye Neilson, Mollie & Zack DeFrancesco, Cyn Warner and Celia Cook were on site between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to check clients in, collect fees, help clients with their pets, answer questions, assist the van staff, clean cages, and help return animals to their owners at the end of the day.
In all, 24 companion animals were spayed and neutered during the clinic, 5 cats and 19 dogs. Clients at the clinic repeatedly voiced their thanks at having a local, low cost option to have their pets spayed and neutered.
Friends of Estancia Valley Animals hopes to bring the mobile clinic back to Edgewood sometime this fall in order to serve the needs of East Mountain citizens and their pets.
We would like to give a special thanks to our local Subway for providing lunch for the van staff and the volunteers during the clinic.
As a final note, we would like to thank officer Mike Ring of our Edgewood Animal Shelter for his support in microchipping, providing advice and client support, and providing towels and crates for the clinic.
